About Cheetah Technologies, L.P.

Cheetah Technologies’ roots extend back to the early 1980s when a small group of RF Engineers and Software Developers began researching new ways to automate test and measurement of Cable TV RF levels in both the headend and at the end-of-line. The original products provided basic signal level measurement data from either a direct RS232 connection or across a standard telephone modem. By the mid-1990s, Cheetah Technologies had extended the capability of the hardware and software to perform RF measurements and retrieve telemetry data from power supplies, nodes, amplifiers, and other HFC network equipment via the Cable Plant return path.

The Cheetah product line continued to expand and the combined monitoring solutions, CheetahNet and CheetahLight, were viewed as the industry standards in HFC plant status monitoring. In 2003, the DOCSIS line of products was introduced along with CheetahXD. Cheetah’s DOCSIS-based transponders and end-of-line RF Measurement products extend the sound heritage of HFC status monitoring to the DOCSIS infrastructure, eliminating the need for legacy headend equipment. When managed by CheetahXD, Cheetah Technologies provides cable operators with the only software solution in the industry to manage new DOCSIS-based transponder deployments while preserving the investment in incumbent CheetahNET and CheetahLIGHT systems. Cheetah also offers the industry’s first HFC-based VoIP and IP test point. Field downloadable software modules enable cable operators to proactively monitor the network’s ability to transport IP-data and VoIP services from headend to end-of-line.

The recent acquisition of the Cheetah Product Line by Cheetah Technologies, LP has brought new focus and energy to the industry leader in HFC Network Management. The Cat is Back!
