V-Factor® Stream Probe Advanced
V-Factor® Stream Probe Advanced with Intelligent Decode, is a breakthrough update to the V-Factor Quality of Experience video monitoring platform. In combination with the V-Factor Stream Probe Standard, the SPa provides the industry's most accurate and scalable end-to-end digital video monitoring solution.

Cheetah's unique Intelligent Decode technology is the result of 10+ years of research in understanding how the human vision system perceives video quality and allows operators to monitor up to 30-120 High-Definition MPEG-2 video channels post-encoder in a 1RU to 2RU platform. Using Intelligent Decode, VF-Stream Probe Advanced (VF-SPa) provides measurements for blockiness, blackout, frozen video and jerkiness that accurately match human observation - in addition to the existing MPEG and IP metrics available with V-Factor Stream Probe Standard. The new VF-SPa ensures that no visual, MPEG or IP errors have been introduced after encoding and packaging video for network transport.

V-Factor® Stream Probe Standard
V-Factor Stream Probe Standard (VF-SPs) offers a comprehensive analysis of IP, MPEG and MPEG video coding layer attributes to ensure any network transmission trends and events are reported. VF-SPs is typically deployed in the network, hub sites, and can also be embedded in edge derives and set-top boxes.

Cheetah V-Factor SP Standard performs Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) of digital video services, measuring service availability, accessibility and distribution degradation based on industry’s best practices defined through SCTE-HMS and ETSI TR101-290 standards as well as RFC 4445 (MDI). In addition, V-Factor SP Standard enables operators to validate complex processes taking place in the headend including encoding/transcoding and statistical multiplexing operations through patented technology measuring the impact of encoding and multiplexing on actual content quality.
