The CheetahNet (formerly NetMentor™) Status Monitoring System Software is a flexible, scalable element manager and the core component of Cheetah’s HFC domain management system. Designed to meet the needs of cable system operators of all sizes and geographies, CheetahNet provides a view to the outside plant and headend/ hub, displaying system health and status information. Incorporating data from physical elements such as power supplies, fiber optic nodes, amplifiers, end-of-line devices and facility environmental systems, as well as RF signal performance in the headend and in the distribution network, CheetahNet alerts the technician when it diagnoses trouble. This early warning system pinpoints the malfunctioning equipment and allows the technician to dispatch repair crews in minutes instead of hours. Built on an advanced set of components, CheetahNet utilizes a technology that targets certain tasks to certain elements. This elevates the software’s functionality, allowing it to be used for enhanced applications such as artificial-intelligence-enabled alarm processing, headend and hub equipment interfaces, automated test procedures for standby power supplies and signal performance, and an operational support system’s interface.
